WHO WE ARE
Kim Haasarud is a nationally recognized mixologist & beverage consultant, cocktail book author and TV personality. Her work can be seen around the country in publications such as The New York Times, REDBOOK magazine, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, San Francisco Chronicle to name a few as well as restaurant and hotels around the country such as: Marriott, PF Changs, Mastro’s, Four Seasons Resort Maui, Tommy Bahama’s, Z’Tejas, OMNI, etc. She also pens a monthly beverage column for the Arizona Republic, “The Libationist” and has been seen on such programs as “Iron Chef America” (as a judge), the TODAY show, CBS Morning Show, Fox & Friends and many others.
Haasarud cut her chops in NYC in the 90’s where she worked for the Fireman’s Restaurant Group as well as a Casting Director. “I loved working in the Entertainment Industry, but I
had a passion for bartending and found I could be really creative in that world.” In 2001, she moved to Los Angeles where she started her beverage consultancy and initially worked large-scale events, creating and serving signature cocktails. She traveled the country with Maxim Magazine doing their Superbowl Parties and celebrity events as well as movie premieres such as “Batman”, “Triple XXX” and other indies. “Whether it was a small event or one of thousands of people, every single cocktail was made with fresh ingredients and matched the greatness of the event.”
Haasarud moved to Phoenix four years ago where she still consults on a national level, but has delved into the local scene, helping with such beverage programs as The Mix Up at the Royal Palms. She is also the President of the USBG (United States Bartenders Guild) Phoenix chapter where her focus has been on Education and growing the local cocktail community. She is one of the founders of Arizona Cocktail Week and has written eight cocktail books, the 101 cocktail series. She lives in Mesa, AZ with her husband, Kevin, children, Holden & Maddy, dog, Emi and fish, Cocchi.
